Happy May!

Your kids have been great to endure and celebrate with me through the Colorado Avalanche season...29th last season in the league, this year 3rd!

In other news: we have been moving West in our Westward Expansion unit and now have moved onto the Civil War.  The kids had the opportunity today to participate with a Civil War presentation.  You will need to ask them about their letter home and their battle wounds.

Permission slips for our upcoming field trip of the Bodyology Theatrical Production were due Wednesday, April 30th.  Please get the permission slips in not later than Monday,  May 5th.

For the field trip on May 7th, your kid will need a disposable lunch including a drink.  Students will be wearing dress code uniforms that day.

In Language Arts, the kids are working in Literature groups reading some fun literature and interacting with some great activities to help with comprehension and fluency.

Hi all,

A few goings on this week:

We had some speakers in this week.  We had a history teacher from Denver Academy come and speak about Lewis and Clark to expound on our Westward Expansion unit.  What a treat!  It was a great presentation.  We also had a gentleman come from the U.S. Mint to reinforce what we learned through our Young AmeriTowne and American Revolution units.

Yesterday, field trip permission slips were sent home for our Field Trip on May 7th.  If you need another copy of the form, click on the link below:

Next week we will be taking our last MAPS testing for the year.  Wow!  April has flown by...
