     Typically there will be one book report due each month.  Information  and due dates will be on website and will also be given to students.
Content Area Projects
  Various  Social Studies/Science projects throughout the year.  Often done in class, but may require some support from home.
 
ÒHomework Policy
ÒAssignments are expected to be completed and turned in on time.
ÒIf assignments are late, but turned in the next day, your child will receive 50% credit on what the score would have been.
ÒAfter the second day, they will receive a zero.
ÒReport Cards
ÒWe will be reporting 3 times a year (trimester schedule) that follows the Douglas County district format

ÒChildren who have birthdays in the summer can celebrate on their half birthday. 
ÒThis year per district policy your child can only bring in treats that are packaged.   Unfortunately that means no homemade treats.

Elementary Testing Days
August 26, December 6, April 14
ÒStudents will arrive at normal time in the morning.
ÒStudents will be brought to the front of the building at 11:00 for carpool.
ÒAny child not picked up by 11:15 will be placed in Academy Kids and charged accordingly.
ÒStudents should bring a snack and a silent reading book.
ÒStudents will be taking the Treasures reading benchmark tests.
ÒConferences
ÒConferences: Oct. 2 & 3, April 23 & 24
ÒWe will be collecting some work throughout the year, the work will be shared at conferences
ÒFriday Folders
ÒPlease check Friday Folders weekly.  There you will find your child’s academic work and correspondence from the school and the teachers.  The folders are to be brought back to school on the following Monday.

ÒYou will see an blue “Helping Hands” sheet on your desk. Please fill out both sides and return it to me by next Monday.

Also: ACS is part of the DCSD Marshall Program-a Police Officer-Glen Stark will be at ACS 2-3 times per day.  He will be in plain clothes.
